Science illiteracy is dangerous and artists can help. I use techniques from multimedia art and design to ground research into engaging human experiences with the goal of encouraging curiosity and participation in science.

I’m driven by ideas and “what if?” statements. Studying a range of media allows those ideas to direct the form they take as works of art. I specialize in crafting combinations of media to best illustrate a particular idea, acquiring the skills to realize it from start to finish, and reaching out to collaborators where a depth of knowledge is needed.

Oh! You might have noticed that there are a lot of branding identities here. I’m also a fanatical corporate designer. Kind of a wrench in my statement, right? Like most artists, I need to fund my projects! So when I’m not writing rock albums about proteins, I use my love of celebrating concepts to celebrate companies and laboratories. It’s practical, but it’s also what I love to do!

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a duel degree bachelor’s in fine art and music in 2018. While in school I focused on biology and engineering as subjects of artistic study while working as a space science communicator, studio engineer, and teacher.
